Drunk Driving Among Violations as NTSA Detains 13 Vehicles

NAIROBI, Kenya Oct 29 – The National Transport and Safety Authority has raised concerns over motorists operating vehicles without valid insurance and with potentially hazardous defects, following a night-time operation along the Southern Bypass.

Thirteen vehicles were detained during the multi-agency compliance exercise, according to an update issued by the authority.

Among the violations recorded were expired inspection stickers, broken headlights, cracked windscreens and breaches of insurance terms.

Some drivers were also found operating with expired driving licences, while others were flagged for driving under the influence of alcohol.

NTSA has urged motorists to ensure their vehicles meet safety requirements and that all necessary documentation remains valid.
