NAIROBI, Kenya Oct 7 – Renowned entrepreneur and tech mogul, Elon Musk, has voiced his concerns and hopes for peace as he reacted to the recent conflict between the Palestinian armed group Hamas and Israel.
Musk shared his sentiments on his former Twitter now X in the wake of one of the largest attacks on Israel in years that left dozens killed.
“Sorry to see what’s happening in Israel. I hope there can be peace one day,” he wrote on his social platform X on Saturday.
The Palestinian armed group, Hamas, initiated the significant attack by launching over 2,000 rockets from the Gaza Strip, leading to the deaths of at least 22 Israelis and hundreds wounded. Israel’s Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant, delivered a stern warning to Hamas, stating that it had made a “grave mistake” in launching this assault. The attack began at 06:30 am local time on Saturday and involved rocket barrages from multiple locations in Gaza, along with fighters infiltrating Israel’s borders through land, sea, and air.
In response to the escalating conflict, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared, “Citizens of Israel, we are at war,” in a video message from military headquarters in Tel Aviv. The conflict also led to clashes in border areas, and several videos circulated on social media showing the situation.
As the conflict continued to intensify, Israeli warplanes began to pound locations in Gaza, referred to as “Operation Iron Swords,” and Israeli soldiers engaged in ground fighting in various locations around the besieged Palestinian enclave.
Elon Musk’s call for peace and love amidst the crisis underscores the gravity of the situation and the global concern over the violence in the region.
