Police open probe into death of 46-year-old man in Limuru

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 8 — Detectives in Kiambu have opened a probe into the death of a 46-year-old man whose lifeless body was discovered dumped by the roadside in Limuru Town.

Police said the victim, a known mason, was found near Limuru Mosque on Thursday morning following a report by the area Chief.

“Officers from Limuru Town Police Station and DCI Limuru visited the scene about two (2) kilometres East of the station and found the body of a male [individual],” a police report obtained by Capital News read.

Preliminary examination of the body revealed strangulation marks on the neck which police said could point to the probable cause of death.

Crime scene personnel processed the site and moved the body to Tigoni Level IV Hospital mortuary pending postmortem examination.

Police indicated that the deceased was last seen in the company of his immediate neighbor, whom police are seeking to question to shed light on the events leading to the incident.
