NAIROBI, Kenya Dec 12 -First Lady Racheal Ruto and Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Gachagua have joined interdenominational leaders in praying for the country and its leadership at the ongoing Thanksgiving Service in Nakuru.
First Lady Racheal took to the pulpit and asked God to bring rain to the country, which has seen four successive failed rainy seasons and is predicted to have suppressed rainfall in a fifth season.
“My God, we have seen people suffering without food, we have seen animals dying, and the livelihood of your people. my God, my Father, may You hear our prayers this morning from Nakuru, asking you to remember Kenya, send us rain to all out 47 counties Jehovah God, and so this morning I know You have heard our prayers and you will send us rain,” the First Lady prayed.
The event which has been graced by President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua is taking place at the Nakuru Athletics Club.
Clergy including Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Gachugua are leading the congregation in praying for the Nation and last year’s electoral victory.
“We can tell today is the day of the perfect Government of God. It is not an accident that today we have a Dorcas and a Racheal in the House. The Spirit of wailing women is upon Racheal, and she the mother of the Nation and intercessor par excellence,” she said.
At least 20,000 people are attending the Service which aims to dedicate the nation to God.
