VIHIGA, Kenya, Jan 16 – Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Leader Raila Odinga has urged Chief Justice Martha Koome to abandon her proposal to hold talks with President William Ruto over allegation of graft in the Judiciary.
Speaking during an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Membership Recruitment drive in Vihiga Tuesday, Odinga said the move will destroy the public confidence of a just and independent judiciary.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna had earlier expressed his disappointment in the CJ’s failure to defend judicial officers.
Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi equally advised the CJ to focus on getting rid of all corrupt and incompetent judges.
The remarks come after Koome called for talks between the Judicial Service Commission and the President over his recent claims on judicial officers working in cahoots to frustrate his projects.
