NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 17 – South African Jerome Paarwater has returned for a second stint as the Head Coach of the Kenya Men’s Fifteens National Team, The Simbas, taking over from Paul Odera whose tenure ended last year.
Odera left the Simbas after a tumultuous campaign for the qualifiers of the 2023 World Cup in which Kenya lost to Namibia in the African qualifiers and suffered defeat in the Repechage tournament.
The Kenya Rugby Union has named a new technical team to lead the Simbas and it will include award winning KCB RFC head coach Curtis Olago who will be one of the assistant coaches alongside Carlos Katywa.
Other members of the Simbas management staff include Richard Ochieng who will be the S&C coach, physio Steve Mankone and James Ondiege who will be the Team doctor.
The new coaching team will swing straight into action on Friday with trials scheduled to select a preliminary national team, and this will mean that this weekend’s Enterprise Cup matches will be postponed to next week.
