NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 23 – Housing Minister Soita Shitanda is expected to leave the Aga Khan Hospital on Tuesday.
His personal Assistant Clement Museve told Capital News that his sugar levels had stabilised and he was out of danger.
“He is doing well, the sugar level is at least stabilising. The way the situation is by tomorrow (Tuesday) we are sure he will leave the hospital. The Doctor said he is also expecting to discharge him. He is talking, he is eating and he is cheerful,” said Mr Museve.
The Minister was visited by politicians and even some constituents who travelled from Malava.
They said: “We are happy to see that our MP is in good condition, we wish him all the best, but at least he now looks okay.”
On Monday, the media was still barred from seeing Mr Shitanda and there was no official communication from his doctor.
The Minister collapsed in his car on Sunday and was discovered by motorists, who took him to the Aga Khan Hospital, where he was admitted.
His wife Betty told the media that the Minister was diabetic and that low sugar levels may have been the cause of his collapse.
