NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 4 – George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo notched a hat-trick as Tusker FC put seven past hapless Chemelil Sugar FC in the highlight of the Kenyan Premier League match played on Saturday at the Muhoroni Stadium.

In other results, Bandari FC were handed a walkover after Nzoia Sugar failed to turn up, Kakamega Homeboyz handed Kisumu All-Stars a 4-0 beating while Sofapaka were held to a 2-2 draw by 10-man Kariobangi Sharks.

In Awasi, the result saw Tusker remain second on the table with 31 points, a point behind champions Gor Mahia who have two games at hand.

Hashim Sempala opened the goal hunt two minutes after kick-off, then Timothy Otieno followed up with a brace, netting in the 10th and 20th minutes before midfielder Humphrey Mieno scored a minute to half time to grant the Brewers a 4-0 comfortable lead at the break.

On resumption, Odhiambo rose to the occasion with the former Gor Mahia winger netting a hat-trick in the 64th 78th and 87th minutes to seal the win for the Robert Matano side who are seeking to wrestle the title back from Gor.

The last time Tusker won it was way back in 2011.
