NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 22 – Two military officers are among five suspects arrested at the weekend after they were found with explosives in Lang’ata, Nairobi.
The two Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers were arrested alongside three civilians – all accused of selling explosives, according to police.
“The five suspects are in custody and the explosives they had are being analysed by experts,” a senior police officer told Capital FM News while confirming the Sunday arrests.
The suspects were first detained at the Lang’ata Police Station before they were handed over to Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU).
ATPU officers were reluctant to comment on the matter, and there was no official statement from police or the military headquarters.
The suspects are likely to appear in court Mondays morning.
