NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 28 – Emerging agricultural technologies will take centre stage when Kenya hosts over 1,000 delegates from about 90 countries for the 2026 World Farmers’ Organization General Assembly 2026 in Nairobi.
The June 8–11 summit, organised by the World Farmers’ Organization in collaboration with the Kenya National Farmers’ Federation, is expected to showcase innovations in digital agriculture, climate-smart farming and technology-driven food systems.
Organisers say the conference will go beyond policy discussions by creating a marketplace for Kenyan farmers, agritech firms and innovators to present solutions ranging from digital farm tools to sustainable production systems.
KENAFF Chief Executive Officer Mwenda Mailutha said the event will highlight projects focused on digitised farming and inclusive agricultural development targeting youth, women and special interest groups.
Local Organising Committee Chairman Nduati Kariuki noted the summit offers a rare platform to link innovation with enterprise, enabling local producers and private sector players to connect with global markets.
KENAFF National Chairman Kaburu M’Ribu added that the assembly aims to drive policy and practical solutions that support economic transformation in agriculture.
Industry stakeholders say the gathering comes at a time when technologies such as precision agriculture, climate data tools, digital marketplaces and smart value chains are becoming critical in boosting productivity and resilience.
The summit is also expected to unlock new business opportunities by linking Kenyan producers with international buyers, investors and policymakers, positioning the country as a strategic hub for global agricultural innovation.
