NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 14 – Kenya’s Agnes Ngetich clocked an astonishing time of 28 minutes and 46 seconds to break the 10 kilometre world record at the Valencia Ibercaja Road race in Valencia this morning.
The 22-year-old became the first female athlete in history to run 10 kilometers under 29 minutes and smashed the previous record held by Ethiopia’s Yalemzerf Yehualaw.
Another Kenyan, Emmaculate Anyango, clocked 28 minutes and 57 seconds to finish second in the same race.
