NAIROBI, Kenya, June 21, 2026 – Sudanese giants Al Merreikh have snapped up Ghanaian midfielder Enock Morrison from FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia.
In a statement, Al Merreikh announced the arrival of Morrison on a free transfer, inking a three-year deal with his new club.
“Welcome, Morrison, to the most title-decorated club in Sudan. Leave your mark, for all champions have passed through here. Ghana’s Black Stars, Enock Morrison — a new addition to Al-Merrikh squad until 2029, arriving from Kenyan club Gor Mahia,” the club said.
Morrison’s departure leaves a gaping hole in the middle of the park of K’Ogalo, for who he has starred for two seasons — having joined in July 2024 from Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.
His outstanding displays as a 6 and 8 saw him awarded the league’s Best Midfielder of the Year gong at the recent Sportpesa Awards at the Glee Hotel in Kiambu.
Even though suitors were always expected to seduce him in droves, it will hurt K’Ogalo to lose such an esteemed player without receiving a fee in return.
In the week’s leading to his departure, the club had reportedly been trying to tie him down to a new contract — attempts that were ultimately futile.
Head coach Charles Akonnor will now have to dip into the transfer market to find an able replacement for his countryman even as Gor return to Caf Champions League after a season in the football wilderness.
