NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 12- Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani has revised Githii Mburu’s term as Kenya Revenue Authority Director General from 3 years to 5 years.
In a gazette notice published on Wednesday, Yatani extended Mburu’s term with two more years.
“In Gazette Notice No.4857 of 2019, amend the period printed as “three (3)years” to read “five(5) years,” read the notice.
Mburu was named KRA Commissioner General in June 2019 after taking over from John Njiraini who had been in office for 2 terms.
Treasury said it picked him to succeed Njiraini owing to his vast experience, having served in the Tax Administration Department, Domestic Tax, Audit and Investigation.
