Kenya Pipeline players celebrate.

NAIROBI, Kenya, June 27, 2026 – Defending champions Kenya Pipeline strolled into the semi-finals of the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Women’s League playoffs with a straight-set demolition of Nairobi Prisons at the Aga Khan Hall in Mombasa on Saturday evening.

The oil merchants won in sets of 25-20, 25-15, 25-14 to secure a 2-0 lead in the best-of-three series tie, which they were always expected to triumph.

Kenya Pipeline had won the first match between the two sides on Friday afternoon, triumphing in sets of 25-17,25-18,25-20, at the same venue.

Also booking their place in the last four were Kenya Prisons who trounced Kenya Army in straight sets in another disciplined forces derby at the same venue.

Josp Barasa’s charges were peerless, winning 25-12, 25-15, 25-11 to make their qualification a mere formality, after winning Game One of the same tie a day earlier.

Two-time African champions KCB Volleyball also sailed through to the semis, thrashing Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) 25-15, 25-17, 25-12 to claim an overall 2-0 lead in the series.

Another disciplined forces side, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were made to sweat by Postbank Queens in a topsy turvy tie that eventually swung 3-2 in their favour.

A 25-19 victory in the first set was soured by a 18-25 loss in the subsequent one.

The sleuths recovered to win 25-17 in the third set but then the bankers pulled another card with a 26-24 triumph in the penultimate set.

However, DCI eventually got the job done, winning 15-9 to squeeze into the semis.
