KISUMU, Kenya Apr 16 – Two guards were killed in Kisumu during a night attack on Saturday.
According to Kisumu Deputy OCPD Jackton Maango, police were called after two bodies were found on Sunday morning.
The guards were manning Chichwa Market behind the University of Nairobi, Kisumu branch.
“We found the bodies on the chairs where they were sitting, they were hit with blunt objects,” he said.
Three shops selling electronic goods were broken into in the attack.
The bodies were removed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary as investigations kicks off.
Chichwa Market funded by World Bank was established to rescue traders who were evicted from Akamba Lane to give room for the rehabilitation of Kisumu Port almost four years ago.
