NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 8 – A total of 1,216 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations registered a mean grade of A.
This was announced by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu as he released the examination results in Uasin Gishu on Monday.
Machogu sys of these, 825 are males while 391 are females and constitute 0.14 percent of the total number of candidates.
According to the CS, 201,133 candidates got a minimum university entry of C plus and above.
“This is 22.27 per cent of students attained direct entry into the university,” he said.
In the A- category, a total of 2,782 are females as compared to 4,472 males.
A total of 18,078 attained a mean grade of B+ with 10,370 males and 7,708 females.
For B plain, there are 36,728 candidates, while a total of 59,514 scored B- and 78,343 scored C+.
A total of 19,960 females scored grade E while 28,214 were males.
