Jan 28 – A newborn baby girl was discovered lifeless inside a pub toilet in Leeds, UK on Sunday.
The distressing incident prompted a swift response from local authorities, as police were summoned to the Three Horseshoes in Oulton at approximately 4:45 pm, following the alarming discovery of the infant within the restroom.
Tragically, paramedics who rushed to the scene were unable to revive the baby girl, confirming her dead.
West Yorkshire Police has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this heart-wrenching incident.
A detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle of West Yorkshire Police emphasized the urgency of the situation, urging the mother to make contact with authorities or seek necessary medical assistance.
He acknowledged the traumatic ordeal the mother may have undergone and stressed the importance of her well-being.
“This is a tragic incident, and we are urgently appealing for the mother of the baby girl to contact us or seek medical help, as she has been through an extremely traumatic ordeal and could well need treatment herself,” he said.
For those mothers who may be more comfortable seeking assistance through means other than direct contact with the police, alternative avenues have been made available. They can reach out to the Leeds Maternity Assessment Unit at 0113 3926731.
While the investigation into the incident continues in collaboration with NHS partners, the primary focus remains on ensuring the welfare and safety of the mother.
The discovery comes shortly after the revelation of another distressing incident where a baby girl, later named Elsa, was found wrapped in a towel inside a reusable shopping bag in East Ham on January 18th.
