NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 17 – Kenya Police Bullets assistant coach Habib Hussein says the team is prepared to take a game at a time and will not be pressured into title talk, despite their huge impetus in the FKF Women’s Premier League.
Bullets, formerly Thika Queens FC, was acquired by FKF Premier League side Kenya Police FC as part of the fulfilment of their club licensing requirements, and the team has gone on to sign some good players, including the acquisition of national team coach Beldine Odemba.
And, in Odemba’s absence, as she was away with the Rising Starlets in Angola, Police started their league campaign on a high, thrashing newly promoted Bungoma Queens 5-1 at the Police Sacco Grounds over the weekend.
Assistant coach Hussein said they will remain humble despite their good start.
“It was a pretty good performance from the girls though it would have been better. For us, we are taking a match at a time and approaching each game with very good and compact ideas. The biggest thing for us is teamwork and once we build that unit, I think we will be a very solid side,” said the coach.
He added; “We are not looking at the title. For us, it is a match at a time.”
Against Bungoma, Puren Alukwe was the star of the show with a well worked hatrick, with Winnie Kwatenda and Lucy Kwekwe adding one each.
