NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 10 – A middle aged man has been charged for fraudulently stealing Sh2.5 millionj from Cooperative bank.
The accused Kipkoech Bett denied 18 counts before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina.
The prosecution told the court the accused withdrew the money on diverse dates on August 22 and September 6 from different branches of the bank.
The accused while presenting himself as Kevin Kamunyo, withdrew the money from Ongata Rongai, Eastleigh and Ol-Kalou Cooperative bank branches.
The prosecution further informed the court thet the he made documents in which he inquired the balance sheets belonging to different bank accounts belonging to different customers.
The accused is remanded at Industrial area prison until November 15 for his bail application.
