NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 6 – The Government has kicked off celebrations for the **2025 Customer Service Week**, reaffirming its commitment to efficient and people-centered public service delivery.

Speaking at the Huduma Centre GPO in Nairobi, Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku said the week underscores the responsibility of all ministries, departments, and counties to serve Kenyans with integrity and excellence.

“We currently have 59 Huduma Centres across the country, and plans are underway to establish more in sub-counties to ensure government services are closer to the people,” said Ruku.

He noted that Article 232 of the Constitution enshrines public service values such as transparency, accountability, and responsiveness. The ministry, he said, is working with Parliament to secure funding through a supplementary budget to equip new Huduma Centres while maintaining prudent fiscal management.

Principal Secretary Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya said this year’s theme, “Mission: Possible,”captures the spirit of teamwork and innovation driving improvements in public service.

“The public service continues to drive the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda by embracing digital systems that improve coordination and efficiency,” she said.

Huduma Kenya CEO CPA Ben Kai Chilumo lauded staff across the country for their professionalism, saying quality customer service is “a daily commitment, not a one-week event.”

He highlighted initiatives such as the Universal Agent Programme and Business Process Re-engineering, which have streamlined access to government documents and reduced turnaround time.

To mark the week, Huduma Kenya will host a Mega Huduma Mashinani event at the DCC Grounds in Dagoretti South, offering government and health services directly to the public.
