Is Your Bae Making You Fat? Tips On Keeping The Relationship Weight At Bay

It is so much easier to keep fit when single than involved. One of the many reasons why is because you have fewer influences in your life or space. That means your routine is always in check and consistency is pinned down every day or every other day.

However, something changes when you get a partner in crime which opens you up to inconsistencies like missing the gym cause of a spontaneous sleepover. It’s all fun and games, until the relationship ends and you leave with not just your moisturizer but also five extra kilograms.

Here is how you can keep fit and still enjoy the joys of being in a relationship.

Spare gym kit

Sleepovers are fun and sometimes quite spontaneous. You just can’t cut them off because you have leg day. To have your cake and eat it, therefore, purpose to have a spare pair of gym gear in your partner’s house.  That way you have no excuse for missing a gym day.

Find an alternative

Sometimes, you’d find that the gym is further away from your partner’s place and the journey there just does not make sense. Other times, you just don’t feel like going. Missing the gym is acceptable, however, not working out is not. Thus, whenever in these feels, find a fun alternative to the treadmill, cross trainer, and deadlifts. It could be as simple as going for a run, alighting two stages further from your actual stop, yoga in the house, and even skipping rope. The idea is to get your body moving.

Shop for your meals

There are foods you are intentional about eating to keep fit. Meals that your partner might not be stocked up for which then leaves you eating semi-unhealthy foods. The only way out of this is to shop for groceries when going to crash at bae’s for a while. Buy your fruits, veggies and meats in advance or daily depending on your preference. Also, remember to stock up on healthy snacks, especially when going for a weekend sleepover.

Compensate

Being consistent is not always easy. Following through with day-to-day goals is hard and sometimes feels quite restrictive. Cheat days, therefore, come in handy in breaking the monotony. However, you need to be smart about it. A system of compensation, therefore, comes quite in handy. For instance, you could have a week of intermittent fasting to get back on track, replace a meal with a smoothie, do more veggies, do carb cycling and even snack less. This way you get to minimize the ‘damage’ caused.

Keeping fit is a hard task. It’s a lot of work and any effort or progress made should be guarded intentionally if not passionately. Do not have fun at your expense make him fit in your routine and not the other way around. Don’t lose yourself, just the weight!
