NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 8 – The cost of electricity is set to go down by Sh3.44 across all consumers.
According to the Ministry of Energy, this is due to a significant drop in the foreign exchange adjustment rate.
“The decrease in total foreign currency exchange payments, that were made earlier this year, has reduced the Fuel Energy Cost half fold from Sh6.45 to Sh3.22 per KWh. This has contributed to the reduced cost of power. This means that buy 100 units pay Sh344.”
Prepaid users will see the change starting at midnight, while post-pay users will pay less at the end of February.
