NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 4 – Defence Cabinet Secretary is expected to kick off a four-day official visit to the United States.

According top his office, Duale will be hosted by his US counterpart Lloyd Austin III.

The visits follows the Signing of Defense Cooperation Framework on the 25th September 2023 in Kenya aimed at reinforcing the strategic partnership between Kenya and the United States.

“The U.S. and Kenyan delegations are expected to discuss a range of topics including regional security, implementation of the Bilateral Frameworks counterterrorism, impact of climate change, joint training, maritime security and opportunities for professional military academic institutions,” the statement indicated.

The United States pledged to support the Kenya Defence Forces by providing robust financial and logistical assistance.

Also lined up for CS Duale are meetings with the Acting Deputy secretary of States Victoria Nuland, Members of the US National security Council and Senators.

The cabinet secretary will also deliver a lecture at the National Defence University in Washington DC.
