NAIROBI, Kenya Jun 16 – Africa’s young agri-tech innovators are set to converge in Kampala, Uganda for the Agriculture, Youth, and Technology (AYuTe) NextGen 2025 Conference, scheduled to take place from June 17 to 19.
The three-day summit, organized by Heifer International, is expected to draw hundreds of young agritech innovators, investors, policymakers, and agricultural stakeholders from across the continent.
Running under the theme “AgTech Generation Rising,” the conference aims to showcase cutting-edge, youth-led solutions shaping the future of African agriculture.
“This is the AgTech generation rising, ready, capable, and already leading. With AYuTe NextGen, we are spotlighting youth as the true architects of Africa’s agricultural future and giving them the tools and partnerships, they need to scale solutions that build resilient, inclusive food systems,” said Adesuwa Ifedi, Senior Vice President for Africa Programs, Heifer International.
From climate-smart farming to AI-powered tools and financial inclusion platforms, the event eyes to unlock new opportunities for agri-entrepreneurs.
The 2025 AYuTe NextGen conference follows an intense, continent-wide competition held in Nairobi and Lagos earlier this year where 11 startups were selected from over 10 African countries.
The startups will pitch their innovations before a distinguished panel of investors, policymakers, and ecosystem enablers in a bid to secure investment and support.
“This year’s competition generated many bold, creative solutions from across the continent. The conference provides a platform where ideas meet opportunity, and solutions gain the capital and support needed to scale,” said Dayo Aduroja, Heifer’s Youth and Innovation Lead for Africa
Now in its fourth year, AYuTe NextGen has supported dozens of startups across Africa, whose innovative solutions have impacted more than 650,000 direct beneficiaries and over 1.2 million indirect beneficiaries across the continent.
