The organizers of the recently concluded Stanbic Yetu Festival have come to to release a press statement following the massive backlash on social media.
The event organizers Radio Africa Events had partnered with Stanbic bank to bring Kenyans a concert they had promised to be the ultimate and premium RnB experience. The event was headlined by American vocal group Boyz II Men and Kenyan Afropop boyband Sauti Sol, it was held at the Uhuru Gardens on Saturday, 11th June, 2023.
However, this is did not go as planned and the experience was not as premium as the organizers had made it out to be bearing in mind the expensive ticket prices. Following the concert, fans called out the organizers for duping them and not delivering on the high end experience they had promised. They cited bad sound, little to no visuals, layout and stage positioning among others.
Now, Radio Africa has come out to apologize to concert goers for the terrible experience with sound and other issues that had been raised. They also promised to find solutions and do better at future events.
The statement reads in part, “We sincerely apologize for failing short of your expectations with regards topo the sound quality and layout in the general area. We acknowledge it was a concert pf two parts. We understand the disappointment and frustration you may have felt, and we want to assure you we take your feedback seriously.”
The apology from Radio Africa events comes after reports that the Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK) was inviting formal complaints following the concert.
