A duo in South Africa have broken a world record after singing karaoke songs for 35 hours straight.
Jacqueline Brits and Rhinus Lotz took on the singing marathon to raise money for the rebuilding of a church.
The pair had aimed to belt out tunes for 48 hours but stopped at 35 due to exhaustion, although they still claimed the Guinness World Record by beating the previous benchmark of 25 hours.
Brits said: “We have been performing for years and have built up a large repertoire. For the attempt we chose all the songs which were vocally less challenging, in order to save our voices.
“Of course the decision to stop was also very tough, we were aiming for 48 hours, but I think we did very well with 35.”
