People are more likely to discover new music styles after a break-up.
The research showed that people’s music taste is altered depending on what they’re going through emotionally and is closely linked to big events in an individual’s life.
According to Deezer, 66% of adults seek new music after splitting from their partner and 39% of people listen to specific tunes when they’re recovering from an injury or illness.
Aurelien Herault, the firm’s chief research and data officer said: “It’s fascinating to see how new music discovery is closely linked to the important phases and events in people’s lives.
“Music is always part of us and an evolving soundtrack to our lives.”
