Wakadinali feat Sir Bwoy – Kuna Siku Youths Wataungana
The group Wakadinali is known for pushing the boundaries for Kenyan hip hop since the early 2000s. The group is clever, well-balanced and the epitome of what real rap looks like long before recent acts entered the scene. Household name Wakadinali hail from Eastlands and returned into the limelight more recently with the Kovu Challenge that swept the nation last year after several years being in the underground scene.
The Kovu challenge came as a reaction after the Zozanation bosses released their ‘Kovu’ track. It got massive airplay and some Kenya artists like Khaligraph Jones doing covers of the track.
Scar and Domani’s new release ‘Siku Moja Youth Wataungana’ is a prophecy proclaimed by the Zozanation rappers saying that one day the youth will stand together and fight together against the oppression and struggles the Youth go through as reported by Mdundo. ‘Siku Moja Youth Wataungana’ is an artistic production, with thought-out visuals directed by Ares 66 and Slim Visuals. It is reflective and inspiring, far from the norm for any hip hop track recently released.
Stivo Simple Boy – Tuheshimu Ndoa
Stivo Simple Boy is a man of many talents, and now he is using his voice for good. He has a rapid rising career with a number of new tracks and collaborations in the past year including the viral hit ‘Mihadarati’, but now he is back with another meaningful release ‘Tuheshimu Ndoa.’
Simple Boy Stevo thrives on his genre of entertainment and conscious music. The Kibera-based rapper urges men and women to respect marriages since the consequences are severe; leaving many with broken homes and neglected children. Stivo advises that marital problems need should be fixed, and all should live together in love.
