JUNE 10 – Leading Oil and Marketing Firm Vivo Energy Kenya has taken a leading role in driving the future of the country’s commercial Road Transport industry.
The company that distributes and markets Shell Products convened a conference in Mombasa that focused on industry trends, lower cost of ownership, sustainability, emissions regulations, and enhanced road safety. The event brought together diverse industry stakeholders.
Vivo Energy Group B2B Sales and Marketing Head Mustapha Nait Karroum echoed that an efficient commercial transport network and a strong partnership are imperative to national and regional integration.
“As Vivo Energy Group, our ambition is to be a supplier of choice; we are proud to spearhead this process with our comprehensive product proposition, which includes a range of automotive fuels, lubricants, aviation fuels, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and black fuels, all designed to promote sustainable practices in the sector across all the 28 markets we operate in,” said Mr. Mustapha.
The forum in Mombasa was a pivotal platform for envisioning a brighter future for the region’s commercial transport sector, a vital lifeline for economies and communities. NTSA and Nema called for concerted efforts in modernizing mobility through environmental sustainability and enhanced Road Safety.
Vivo Energy Kenya Country Marketing Manager Mr. Mark Senteu revealed that the company has achieved growth strides, with a record 316 fueling stations in 41 counties nationwide.
“We offer unrivaled customer experience for our products, and our enhanced Shell fuel card is sophisticated and enhanced features that can see it only fueled by a specific car, with metrics of determining where and when it can be fueled, among other key enhanced features,” said Senteu.
The National Transport and Safety Authority, a key player in the road safety landscape, remains a significant catalyst in road safety implementation, information, and education.
Mombasa Region NTSA Manager John Parteroi says Vivo Energy Kenya has been a vital partner in the campaign to ensure zero fatalities are achieved in the road sector.
“Working with Vivo and other stakeholders has enabled us to reduce these trends to align with the global agenda,” said John.
This is particularly crucial as an estimated 3,000 fatalities occur daily worldwide, with 1.3 million people killed on the roads annually and 50 million injured.
