Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist to develop web-based applications using a mix of technologies
- Assist to develop web-based mapping applications using Google Maps and/or Flash
- Assist in the maintenance of the FSNAU website
- Assist in the update of online FSNAU databases
- Assist in the creation of e-forms to be used for data collection in the field assessments
- Any other work as may be assigned by the supervisor
Education and Experience:
- Experience in developing using PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery
- Experience using Adobe Flash and Photoshop
- Experience with mapping using Google maps and other related technologies
- Experience using database servers e.g. MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Experience using open source content management systems e.g. Drupal, Joomla, WordPress
- Experience in mobile application development using the Android platform
- Working on both Windows and Linux operating system environments
Other Desired Requirements:
- Awareness and knowledge of web accessibility and usability issues
- Proactive and able to work as part of a team
- Good eye for designing web-based user interface
- Good communication and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively in a multicultural environment
