Tiwa Savage To Make Acting Debut With New Film, ‘Water And Garri’

Fresh off her ugly online spat with Davido, Tiwa Savage just announced her debut film dubbed ‘Water & Garri.’

Announcing the project, the pop star reckoned: “This has been over two years in the making and is probably one of the most adventurous, fulfilling things I’ve done. I feel blessed and honored not only to be making my debut as a lead actor, but to have also executively produced this film.”

‘Water and Garri’ will mark Savage’s maiden feature film of her career. The film will air on Prime Video and is primed to air in over 240 countries.

The film bears the same name as the ‘Wanted’ singer’s 2021 EP. “I honestly can’t wait to take you guys along with me on this next phase of my life and art…. I’m just getting started,” She assured fans.

‘Water and Garri’ is shot in Cape Coast, Ghana and is directed by Meja Alabi. It depicts Savage as Aisha, a budding fashion designer based in America who, overcome by guilt, returns to her hometown.

The flick is jointly produced by Everything Savage and Unbound Studios and features stars like Jemima Osunde, Mike Afolarin and Andrew Bunting.
