Today, we close the First Era of the ThirdFlow campaign with a moment that could not be more fitting: a conversation with the Founder of Capital FM, Lynda Holt.
Thirty years after the journey began, we have returned to the source—to the vision, courage and conviction that gave Capital FM its distinctive voice.
ThirdFlow was created around “30 Years. Three Eras. One Flow.” It is our way of celebrating where Capital FM has come from, the culture it continues to shape and the future we are building.
The First Era —Legacy Flow—has taken us back to the people, voices, music, programmes and defining moments that shaped Capital FM.
The Founder’s interview brought that story full circle. It gave us an opportunity to revisit the ambition behind the station: to build a bold, modern and distinctive radio brand that would speak to an emerging urban audience in a language, tone and sound that felt fresh, confident and different.
That ambition did not stop at radio.
For three decades, Capital FM has been part of the soundtrack of Nairobi and Kenya. We have been there for the morning commute, the first job, the big interview, the new song, the national conversation, the celebration and the moments that brought us together.

We have introduced music, elevated talent, challenged conventions, shaped conversations and created a trusted space where entertainment, culture, business and public affairs meet.
That is the legacy we celebrate—but legacy is not simply about looking back.
It is about understanding what made us matter, what has kept us relevant and what we must carry forward.
The First Era has reminded us of the values at the heart of Capital FM: courage, innovation, quality, cultural relevance and an unwavering belief in the power of great content.
It has also reminded us that no institution is built by one person or one generation.
Our story belongs to the presenters, journalists, producers, technicians, commercial teams, partners, artists and, above all, the audiences who have given Capital FM a place in their lives.
To everyone who has contributed to this journey over the past 30 years: thank you.
You helped turn an idea into a brand, a station into a community and a radio frequency into a cultural institution.
But we are not stopping there.
The strength of a legacy is ultimately measured by what it enables us to build next.
That is where ThirdFlow takes us.
The Second Era—Culture Flow—will put the spotlight on the music, talent, creators, conversations and communities shaping Nairobi today. It will capture the energy of a changing city and deepen our connection with audiences through radio, digital content, social platforms, partnerships and shared experiences.
Then comes Third Era—Future Flow.
This is where we introduce the next Capital FM: a content-first, digitally driven media organization designed for audiences who are consuming, discovering and sharing content in new and constantly evolving ways.
Radio remains our heartbeat. But the opportunity around it is bigger than ever.
Video, podcasts, digital products, live experiences, audience insight and responsible technology will allow us to take Capital’s content further, reach audiences differently and create new ways for people to connect with the brand.
The challenge is clear: protect what makes Capital distinctive while having the courage to reinvent what needs to change.
We must continue earning the trust that has been built over 30 years while making room for new voices, new formats, new ideas and new generations.
That is the responsibility that comes with our history.
Today, we close Legacy Flow with gratitude and pride.
We honour the vision that started the journey. We celebrate the people who carried it forward. And we thank the audiences who made Capital FM part of their lives.
Now, we move.
We take the confidence of our history, the energy of today’s culture and the ambition to build an even stronger, more innovative and more connected Capital FM.
The legacy has been honoured.
The culture is in motion.
The future begins.
30 Years. Three Eras. One Flow.
