Nipsey Hussle was more than a rapper, he was also a savvy businessman. And as such, he was involved in various ventures including a lucrative collaboration with athleisure clothing brand Puma.
Nipsey who was tragically gunned down on March 31st outside his shop for his highly successful Marathon Clothing brand continues to live on months after his demise. The father of two who had an ongoing collaboration with mega-brand Puma at the time of his death may not be here to see his work come to life, but the German company is determined to see it through.
According to Essence, “We had a lot of things that were coming, and hopefully a lot of things we will still do with his estate,” PUMA Brand and Marketing Global Director Adam Petrick went on to say, “We’ll work with his family and we’ll support his kids…We’re going to continue to release some product that we’ve created with him. We’ve also got some charity activations that we’ll do to support what he was doing in Crenshaw, and trying to continue the work that he was doing through his foundation.”
Neighbourhood Nip as he was fondly known to many, previously announced an upcoming collaboration between his brand Marathon Clothing and PUMA set for release later in 2019. The two brands also previously collaborated on a limited edition collection in mid last year, which dropped in June 2018. The collection was something special featuring the classic Puma Suede redesigned as ‘Clyde.’

In the months after Nipsey’s death, authorities have been working round the clock to ensure justice is done. Nipsey Hussle’s murder suspect Eric Holder is set to face the full arm of the law, according to a report by The Sauce. Holder who was first nabbed for the death of neighborhood hero Nipsey’s in April as first reported by The Sauce could face heavy sentencing after a jury added two more charges.
According to Pitchfork, “Eric Holder—the Los Angeles man who was arrested in April—has been hit with two additional charges, the L.A. District Attorney’s Office revealed. In April, Holder was charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of attempted murder stemming from injuries sustained by other people at the scene of the shooting on March 31st. The case was then revisited by a grand jury. Now, Holder is also being charged for two counts of assault with a firearm for the injured individuals.”
