Young and enthusiastic rapper-cum-singer Nem R is deemed to be the one of the next big names in the Kenyan music scene.
With an undeniable talent, personality and charisma that aptly befit industry prerequisites, she has all it takes to take over. “I use my vocals, lyricism, and style to create refreshing melodies and flows. I am a genre-less artist because I enjoy experimenting with music on all levels. Most of all, I consider myself a songwriter, a natural musician and a poet,” She reckons.
Nem-R has collaborated with various artistes like Kitu Sewer, Wale Matwins, Ricco Beatz and Yes Academy Kenya on songs like System ya Majango and Intentions. She adds: “Working with various creatives has given me the confidence and experience I need to test my diversity. I am deep-thinker and I express myself through music.”
She has a 3-EP series dubbed AREA launched circa May 2021. The first two of the series AREA 1 and AREA 2 are already out with the third installment slated for a release this quarter. Each of the EPs has 3 songs each. “This is a testament to ‘Estate in Wonderland’ the concept behind it; that I bought an estate in ‘Wonderland’ and these are the AREAs,” She explains.
