Alvindo has just released another track dubbed ‘Boy Child.’
‘Taka Taka’ singer has come back with another one, this time less controversial but yet just as relatable. The audio release which was made public a fortnight ago garnered 106K views on YouTube and is not set to be outdone with the video which features the talented producer Magix Enga and television funnyman DJ Shiti.
The track’s principle message goes out the boy child who faces many struggles in today’s dog eat dog world. Alvindo, who previously faced public criticism from the KFCB boss for his lyrics, has taken a different direction with this track, appealing to the masses and toeing the line in terms of his lyrics. DJ Shiti’s addition to the track may seem like a misstep, but he adds a comical feel to the track that otherwise speaks on some very serious social issues affecting Kenya’s young men.
Alvindo’s third release has gained great feedback from fans. One comment read, “Uzuri ya Alvindo haimbii story za haga na bangi kama kina Ethic and company. Big up Alvindo. Ukona content noma sana.” Another spoke about the super collaboration that supported Alvindo’s journey to true stardom, he wrote “Thanks magix en shiti for supporting young talent….. May God bless you all.”
According to an earlier report by The Sauce, regulatory board KFCB banned the song ‘Taka Taka’ on April 16th, due to its obscene and degrading lyrics that advocate for violence against women by equating them to trash. The ban came a few days after the news of several women being killed and others injured by their partners for one reason or another.
