NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 10 – Six people have been evacuated to hospital following the collapse of a building under construction near Karen Community Church along Ngong Road.
The Kenya Red Cross Society has confirmed that all persons who were trapped at the site have been accounted for, following an intensive search and rescue operation by emergency response teams.
Rescue efforts were mounted by the Red Cross, police, firefighters and medical personnel, who rushed to the scene shortly after the incident was reported.
The casualties were stabilised at the scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.
Authorities have since secured the area as investigations begin to establish the cause of the collapse.
Motorists were advised to exercise caution or seek alternative routes along the affected section of Ngong Road to allow emergency operations to proceed smoothly.
