More than half of singles are relieved that Valentine’s Day won’t be a big event this year.
Lockdown has scuppered many plans for the most romantic day of the year but 56 percent of singletons are grateful that celebrations will be scaled-down, according to research from dating app Badoo.
30 percent admit that the Coronavirus pandemic has made them worried about being single and are relieved that Valentine’s Day won’t make their feelings worse.
Badoo is renaming the day ‘Canceltine’s Day’ in honor of those relieved that Cupid is staying away this year and are encouraging people to celebrate friendship and feel grateful about all kinds of love.
Natasha Briefel, Marketing Director at Badoo UK, said: “Valentine’s Day has the ability to put enormous amounts of pressure on many people, whether they’re single, dating, or in a relationship.
“This is the last thing we want, so with Valentine’s Day being ‘canceled’ this year, it’s a great opportunity for singles to take a step back, and remember the importance of dating on their own terms.”
