NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 26 – Schneider Electric Kenya has strengthened its support for technical education by donating essential training equipment to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions nationwide.
The donation, handed over at Schneider Electric’s Nairobi offices, will benefit students at PC Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute, Eastlands College of Technology, and vocational centers in Busia County.
The equipment will enhance electrical and instrumentation labs, providing hands-on experience in domestic wiring, industrial wiring, and PLC programming to ensure graduates are industry-ready.
Schneider Electric Kenya Country President Ifeanyi Odoh reaffirmed the company’s commitment to empowering youth through education and skills development, aligning with the government’s efforts to strengthen technical education.
“This initiative is part of our mission to train one million youths by 2025, equipping them with the skills necessary to excel in the energy and automation sectors,” Odoh stated.
The donation builds on previous milestones, including the Schneider Electric Franco-Kenyan Centre of Excellence at PC Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute, which serves as a training hub for electrical and automation systems.
Busia County CECM for Education and Industrial Skills Development, Hon. Beatrice Nakholi, welcomed the donation, emphasizing its impact on the 27 vocational training centers in the county.
Patrick Githinji, Senior Partnerships Director at Eastlands College of Technology, noted this was Schneider Electric’s third donation, highlighting its long-term commitment to developing technical expertise among Kenyan youth.
The initiative, coordinated through Theresia and Fidelis Foundation, aligns with Schneider Electric’s global commitment to sustainability, innovation, and advancing technical education, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for positive change in East Africa.
