Embattled now-to-be former Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has won the coveted and massively contested for Nairobi Gubernatorial seat.
The beloved UDA candidate defied all odds to beat his opponent, corporate executive Polycarp Igathe by garnering a total of 811, 734 votes, per the results released. Igathe, who was vying via a Jubilee ticket, was edged out after amassing 594, 304 votes for himself.
An elated Sakaja took to his social media to thank voters for his win: “Thank you Nairobi for the overwhelming support. 56% is not a joke,” He wrote.
