South African reality TV star Khany Mbau known for her appearance on the Netflix show Young Famous and Africa, has consistently been open about cosmetic enhancements.
Khanyi has opted for a more lasting solution after growing weary of the frequent upkeep required by Botox and fillers, which she previously had to maintain every three months.
Taking to Instagram, Mbau shared a detailed video of her latest procedure—a blepharoplasty, which she explained would help reduce the heavy skin on her lower and upper eyelids. Blepharoplasty is a solution often sought by individuals experiencing a natural loss of skin elasticity due to ageing.
“Now we bake, and we bought a new face,” Mbau wrote in her Instagram post. “I know, I know. Before we all lose it, it’s still very fresh and super tight. It will take a few weeks for it to cook.” The actress, known for her sharp wit and candidness, also revealed that in addition to the blepharoplasty, she had a subnasal lip lift performed to enhance the shape of her lips.
Despite her enthusiasm, Mbau acknowledged that the healing process would take time. “It’s still going to get worse before it gets better,” she noted, adding a shoutout to her nurse, Mert, for making the experience as comfortable as possible.
Khanyi’s cosmetic journey has seen her undergo a range of procedures, including liposuction to contour her body, and breast revision surgery for aesthetic enhancement. Additionally, she has undergone skin lightening, which she has openly discussed as a way to achieve a lighter complexion that requires less makeup and maintenance.
