Top Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones has released his highly anticipated album titled ‘Invisible Currency’.
The 17-track album was released today (07.03.2022) featuring the likes of Bongo star Alikiba, Gengetone hitmaker Mejja, Nigeria’s Rudeboy, and Kenyan singer Xenia Manasseh among many others.
In a statement shared on his social media handles, the OG revealed he was proud to present his new album ‘Invisible Currency’ via Boomplay after a four-year wait.
“4 years later, we are finally Live on Boomplay… lets run up the streams, Invisible Currency ????????????????????????????. lets gooo #respecttheogs,” shared Khaligraph Jones.
“He cuts across the complexity of all genres, and his music attests to this. ‘Invisibe Currency’ represents his influence on the current Kenyan hip-hop scene, is visible and cannot go unnoticed,” reads the album description on Boomplay.
Tanzanian singer Alikiba who has been featured on track number 9 titled ‘Wanguvu’, posted a congratulatory message, saying he is happy to be part of the project. “Congratulations Papa Jones, happy to be part of this project! track no.9! Go stream the album out now. #InvisibleCurrency,” Alikiba wrote.
Kenya’s Ohangla singer Prince Indah has been featured on track number 5 ‘Ateri Dala’, singer Adasa on ‘Maombi ya Mama’, Mejja on ‘Kamnyweso’ and Blackway on ‘Am on the Move’. Nigerian singer Rudeboy of the famous PSquare duo appears on track number 13 ‘Ride for You’, Xenniah Manaseh on ‘How we do’, Kev the Topic on ‘Inner Peace’, Scar Mkadinali of the Wakadinali group is on track number 11 (Tsunami) while Dax is on ‘Hiroshima’ whose visuals are set to drop today as well.
Prior to the release, the award winning rapper said the album will be a new experience. “Listen, we are going to be raising the bar. We are going to be doing the unimaginable. Everything about this album is super historic.”
“There is no album that will come out of the 254 in 2022 that is going to surpass what ‘Invisible Currency’ is going to do,” he added.
Jones’ debut studio album, ‘Point of No Return’, was released in 2014. In 2015 he released a mixtape called ‘Eff Off’. In 2018, he released his second album ‘Testimony 1990’. He also released a mixtape called ‘The Take Over’.
