
NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 14- Fuel prices have been slashed in the latest monthly review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) .
The authority on Saturday reduced the price of Super Petrol per litre by Sh1.09, Diesel Sh2.83 and Kerosene Sh1.75 on average.
The new prices are effective from December 14 to January 14.
In Nairobi, Super Petrol will retail at Sh109.50, Diesel Sh101.78 and Kerosene Sh102.31.
In Mombasa Petrol will be sold at Sh107.45, Diesel Sh99.74 and Kerosene Sh100.26.
Pump prices in Nakuru and Kisumu will be the same with petrol going for Sh109.90, Diesel Sh102.40 and Kerosene at Sh102.91.
The authority said the new prices are inclusive of 8 percent Value Added Tax which is in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2018.
EPRA further pointed out that the price change is a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Petrol decreased by 0.50 percent from US$ 463.24 per cubic metre in October to US$460.83 per cubic metre in November this year.
Diesel decreased by 3.36 percent from US$ 502.15 per cubic metre to US$485.29 per cubic metre while Kerosene reduced by 3.75 percent from US$ 499.55 per cubic metre to US$ 481.11 per cubic metre.
