‘Red Bull Dance Your Style’ Paints The Town Red, Winner Crowned

The annual ‘Red Bull Dance Your Style’ dance tiff off went down on Sunday, August 6, at the Nairobi Street Kitchen.

An intense dance showdown among 16 participants from across the country ensued, all vying for the opportunity to represent Kenya in the international ‘Red Bull Dance Your Style’ competition in Germany. The victory ultimately went to Fabius Oduor, a 21-year-old male, who now holds the title and the chance to showcase his skills in Germany on November 4.

Speaking to The Sauce, Oduor intimated: “I was inspired by my uncle to dance. I’m happy I won to present Kenya in Germany, but I have I a lot on my way to becoming a winner.”

Renowned dancers Chiki Kuruka, Quincy and Dance General thrilled the dancers during a warmup session, before they took to the stage.

‘Red Bull Dance Your Style’ is a global dance competition that embraces various dance styles. The audience plays a pivotal role in determining the winner through voting for their preferred dancers. The last edition (2022) were held in Johannesburg, South Africa in December. The national winner of that year was one Owade. On the other hand, Ian Tiko was crowned the national winner the previous year.

On November 4 this year, 30 countries are slated to battle it out in Frankfurt, Germany.
