Fast-rising Kenyan rapper AMAZ, real name Amos Kabole Watuku, has premiered his debut music video Kila Siku.
The music video was shot in Nairobi directed by QVSUAL, performed and self-produced by AMAZ.
The tear-jerking record primed to inspire people going through adversity to keep their head up is a testament to AMAZ’ long-standing talent. Following his official debut as a performing and recording producer-artist in 2020, AMAZ has been soaring to new heights. He uses his art as a vessel to inspire others to be the best version of themselves. AMAZ has described his music as “Life Music.”
“The song is about life and its ups and downs, overcoming adversity and perseverance through everyday struggles. I am sure everybody everywhere can relate” AMAZ said of Kila Siku.
“To keep it a hundred, I wasn’t necessarily in the best state of mind. I was down bad after back to back L’s but I was still hopeful. So rather than stay there, I put my heart and soul on this record – Kila Siku.” he continued.
Additionally, the record comes on the back of AMAZ making his debut on Kenyan hit drama series, Single Kiasi. AMAZ played Derek Jones, the son of a rich man who gets anything using his financial wellbeing.
“Funny story, I’d been doing a lot of auditions with no luck and just as I was about to throw the towel in, I saw a friend post the call on their stories, and an hour later another friend sent me the same and before the night was over, so did my cousin. I figured, this had to be a sign. My mom actually helped me audition and the rest is history.”
