The Pulse Influencer Awards have implemented strict measures to combat vote buying misconduct.
They recently disqualified popular car dealer Khalif from the Business Category of the 2023 Pulse Influencer Awards due to his violation of the stringent vote buying guidelines.
The Pulse Influencer Awards committee issued a statement, mentioning their awareness of fraudulent nominees who had been openly paying voters. They expressed their commitment to disqualify any nominees caught conspiring with these fraudsters to manipulate voting results in participating countries.
“We must inform you that you have been disqualified from the Business category, in which you were previously nominated, with immediate effect. All votes you had previously accumulated during the voting stage will now be considered null and void,” the Pulse statement said in part.
Kairo, the disqualified nominee, had been actively urging his fans to vote for him, offering to pay them in return. His social media comments were flooded with screenshots of votes and phone numbers.
In the Business Influencer category of the year, Kairo was going up against Beauty entrepreneurs Maureen Bandari and Phoina Beauty, Fashionpreneurs Cris Njoki and David Avido as well Just Ivy.
As reported by The Sauce, voting closes on the 21st of September ahead of the highly anticipated awards ceremony on October 7th.
