“Fall” crooner Davido is making his voice heard and it’s not in the music sector.
The 25-year-old artist has been in Nigeria; working hard on the campaign trail to secure his uncle Senator Ademola Adeleke governorship of Osun State. According to AFP, ” Sen Adeleke is known as the ‘the dancing senator’ because of his penchant for dancing in public, and in having Davido going on the campaign trail Adeleke must be hoping his high-profile nephew can win him as many voters as he has music fans.”
On social media, Davido has not shied away from putting the full weight of his support behind his uncle who is said to be running for his second term.

With his uncle running in the opposition, Davido’s influence on Naija pop culture and youth could go a long way in securing Sen. Adeleke the gubernatorial seat; all while challenging President Muhammadu Buhari’s foothold on Nigerian politics. According to Capital Lifestyle, “Sen. Adekele the 58-year-old politician is running for the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Candidates from no fewer than 48 parties are vying to replace APC Governor Rauf Aregbesola, who is stepping down after a maximum of two four-year terms. Saturday’s poll is the final major electoral test before Nigerians vote for a new president, parliament, governors, and state legislatures in February and March next year.”
