Media personality Anita Nderu and husband Barrett Raftery have welcomed their little one, a baby girl.
Taking to social media to share the news on Tuesday (30.08.2022), the new mother posted an adorable photo of the newborn taking a nap.
She revealed their daughter’s name as Kaya Gacheri Catalina Raftery who was born on the Friday 26th of August 2022 at 3.48am.
“@barrettraftery and I finally got to meet our daughter Kaya Gacheri Catalina Raftery (Rap name: Nippy Suckle) on the 26th of August 2022 at 3:48am,” posted Anita.
The elated Anita further intimated that the last couple of days following the arrival of Kaya have been a whirlwind and they are in absolute awe of their little one.
“What a whirlwind couple of days it has been. We are elated beyond words, grateful and in love and awe of our little human. We’re finally back home. Our rent free house mate is about to reveal her true colors as she schools us through the 4th trimester. Parenthood 101 is now in session,” continued the bubbly personality.
The announcement elicited congratulatory messages from fans and celebrities alike. Among those who wished the new mother well include her cousin and actress Sarah Hassan, BBC presenter Ciru Muriuki, Fashionpreneur Neomi Ng’ang’a, Photographer Mutua Matheka, Influencer Maxine Wabosha, Singer Yvonne Darq, Youtuber Joanna Kinuthia just to name a few.
Following her spectacular pregnancy announcement in July 2022, the former Capital FM presenter has been letting in her fans on her journey to motherhood and fondly referring to the baby as Peanut.
