NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 22– The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) has entered a strategic partnership with global technology firms Hedera and Hashgraph to spearhead digital innovation in Africa’s capital markets.

The partnership is part of the newly launched NSE Innovation Lab, a platform designed to test and scale next-generation financial technologies.

Through the collaboration, the NSE seeks to modernize market infrastructure, enhance liquidity, and promote financial inclusion.

NSE Chief Executive Frank Mwiti said the Lab will enable experimentation with technologies such as tokenization, digital assets, and decentralized finance, while strengthening market resilience.

“By working with global innovators like Hedera and Hashgraph, we are accelerating the digital transformation of Africa’s capital markets,” Mwiti said.

The NSE said the initiative aligns with its 2025–2029 strategic plan and supports Kenya’s broader goal of becoming the region’s fintech hub.
