He is a breath of fresh air as he is talented. Nigeria’s newest kid on the block Ifydino, real name Ifeanyi Adieme, is not quite new on the block.
The ambitious South Africa-based artiste has been doing music professionally since 2016, with a string of succesful records under his belt. Now with a new EP, Ifydino the EP, on the horizon and prospective continental success looking a little too close. The Street singer gave The Sauce an exclusive listen to the project and from the look of things, Ifydino is all armed for an eventful 2023.
“The first single off of the EP drops in January whilst I am slating the EP for a March 2023 release. The 5-song EP will incorporate a wide range of sounds, like Amapiano and Afrobeats. There is only one feature, my collaboration with Nigerian superstar Majeed, who has worked with huge names like Joeboy and Tiwa Savage,” He enthusiastically intimates.
Ifydino’s music inspiration stems from his immediate environment. A day in the life of the talented singer entails meditating and listening to music as soon as he wakes up. “That is how a typical work day for me looks like. I can get in the creative mind frame by playing music. My writing is versatile – I could write to a beat or develop a melody myself. I enjoy both,” He further states.
The last born of seven kids, Ifydino holds an Economics degree from Nmamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Nigeria. He explains: “After graduating, I worked at my uncle’s company for six months before deciding to fully focus on music. I have not looked back since.”
Ifydino is currently signed to WNQ (Winners Never Quit) Records, his family’s record label. Currently in Kenya, he is enjoying Sauti Sol and Brandy Maina’s music and is already in talks with Big Pin for a potential collaboration. Internationally, he would be hellbent in continuing the Afrobeats global takeover by working with music giants like Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj and Coldplay.
