Fast-rising Nigerian hitmaker CKay has taken the industry by storm and is not letting up anytime soon.
Speaking to The Sauce, CKay attributed his success in the music industry to his passion for making “great music” that comes straight from his heart. He acknowledged that his fans adore his music and can’t get enough of it.
When asked about his upcoming projects, the ‘Emiliana’ hitmaker remained tight-lipped, but he did hint at “several exciting collaborations” that he had in the pipeline. Ckay was especially enthusiastic about working with Kenyan Band ‘Sauti Sol’ and revealed that he was eagerly looking forward to meeting up with them to “explore a potential musical alliance.”
Although Ckay sometimes performs at clubs, he emphasized that his music is better suited for larger festivals. He said, “I perform at clubs sometimes, but my music is tailored for festivals.”
When it comes to the creative process, Ckay debunked the myth that there is a specific formula for making great music. He said, “I don’t have a creative process; I literally build the music as it comes.” He explained that each song is unique and can start from various elements like beats, melodies, or just a single line. However, the most crucial factor is nurturing the initial idea until it blossoms into a polished masterpiece.
Ckay’s refreshingly candid and innovative approach to music-making has undoubtedly earned him a loyal fan base and a reputation as one of the industry’s most promising artists.
